Mathematics is the 35th most popular major in the country with 30,202 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,168 and had an average of $21,863 in loans still to pay off.

Across Massachusetts, there were 1,552 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $51,531 and $23,063 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Math” ranking looked at 17 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in mathematics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
