In 2020-2021, 30,202 people earned their degree in mathematics, making the major the 35th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,168 and had an average of $21,863 in loans still to pay off.

Across Alabama, there were 352 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $43,613 and $23,099 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Alabama for Math” ranking analyzed 5 colleges that offered a degree in mathematics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend The University of Alabama. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Alabama for Math list. Located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this large public school awarded 119 degrees to qualified ’s math students in 2020-2021.

UA also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 37,840 students enrolled at The University of Alabama, 2,081 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1,128 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $7,975. UAH is a public institution located in Huntsville, Alabama. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 27 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

UAH did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 9,999 students enrolled at UAH, 645 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. University of Alabama at Birmingham is a large school located in Birmingham, Alabama that handed out 44 ’s math degrees in 2020-2021.
