Mathematics & Computer Science is the 221st most popular major in the country with 1,302 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, mathematics and computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $80,867 and had an average of $19,874 in loans still to pay off.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for Math & CompSci” ranking, we looked at 29 colleges that offer a degree in mathematics and computer science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great mathematics and computer science programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the mathematics and computer science program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 29 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly for Math & CompSci that were part of this year’s ranking, Massachusetts Institute of Technology landed the #1 spot on the list. Cambridge, Massachusetts is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s math and compsci degrees to 32 students in 2020-2021.
