In 2020-2021, 195,678 psychology students received their degree, making the major the 8th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $35,611 and had an average of $25,989 in loans still to pay off.
Across Oregon, there were 2,071 psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,881 and $25,061 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for Psychology” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in psychology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great psychology programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for Psychology that were part of this year’s ranking, Portland State University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Portland, Oregon, this large public school handed out 422 diplomas to qualified ’s psychology students in 2020-2021.
Portland State University not only placed well in this ranking. Oregon State University is located in Corvallis, Oregon and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 289 ’s psychology degrees to qualified students.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Oregon State, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 32,312 students enrolled at Oregon State University, 1,559 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Pacific University landed the #9 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Oregon for Psychology ranking. Pacific is a small school located in Forest Grove, Oregon that handed out 189 ’s psychology degrees in 2020-2021.
Pacific also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Of the 3,808 students enrolled at Pacific, 155 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
