We analyzed 28 colleges and universities across the Southwest Region to determine which were the best for Ghanaian students in the Southwest Region. Instead of depending on subjective information, we focus on objective factors to determine this ranking. These factors include such things as the total number of international students at the school and the school's overall quality.

Arizona State University - Tempe tops this year’s ranking as the best school for Ghanaian students in the Southwest Region. Located in Tempe, Arizona, the large public school handed out 14,829 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of New Mexico - Main Campus landed the #11 spot on the 2021 Best Colleges for Ghanaian Students in the Southwest Region. This large public school is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it awarded 4,294 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 4.5% of the total student population at the school is international. Students from as far away as China, India, and Nepal come to UNM to study.
New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology ranked #12 on this year’s Best Colleges for Ghanaian Students in the Southwest Region list. This small public school is located in Socorro, New Mexico, and it awarded 225 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of the total number of students at the school, 4.7% are international. The top three countries sending students to study at New Mexico Tech are China, India, and Nepal.

West Texas A&M University did quite well in the 2021 Best Colleges for Ghanaian Students in the Southwest Region ranking, coming in at #23. West Texas A&M University is located in Canyon, Texas and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 1,688 bachelor’s degrees to qualified undergraduates.
