Our analysis found University of Houston to be the best school for Vietnamese students in the Southwest Region in this year’s ranking. Located in Houston, Texas, the large public school handed out 8,890 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of the total number of students at the school, 7.0% are international. Students from as far away as India, China, and Vietnam come to UH to study.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 86%.
The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at The University of Texas at Dallas helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best schools for Vietnamese students in the Southwest Region. The University of Texas at Dallas is a large public school located in Richardson, Texas that handed out 4,825 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
International students make up 14.5% of the total student body at the school. Students studying at UT Dallas come from such countries as India, China, and Taiwan.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 90%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.
A rank of #3 on our list means Texas A&M University - College Station is a great place for Vietnamese students in the Southwest Region working on their bachelor’s degree. Texas A&M University - College Station is a large public school located in College Station, Texas that handed out 13,409 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
International students make up 6.4% of the total student body at the school. The top three countries sending students to study at Texas A&M College Station are China, India, and South Korea.

Out of the 51 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Rice University landed the #4 spot on the list. Located in Houston, Texas, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 1,364 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of New Mexico - Main Campus came in at #20 in this year’s edition of the Best Colleges for Vietnamese Students in the Southwest Region ranking.
