In 2020-2021, 13,552 people earned their degree in journalism, making the major the 69th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, journalism graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,953 and had an average of $23,734 in loans still to pay off.

Across North Carolina, there were 133 journalism graduates with average earnings and debt of $25,416 and $25,697 respectively.

Located in Boone, North Carolina, this large public school awarded 41 degrees to qualified ’s journalism students in 2020-2021.

Appalachian State did well in our major quality rankings, too. Elon University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Elon, North Carolina. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 31 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Elon, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Elon University supports 7,117 students, and 100 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 66 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Wingate, North Carolina is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s journalism degrees to 8 students in 2020-2021.

Wingate did well in our major quality rankings, too.
