When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. At College Factual, we’re committed to helping you make that decision by providing information such as that found in our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for CIS” ranking.
In 2020-2021, 88,434 computer information systems students received their degree, making the major the 9th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,066 and had an average of $26,787 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 4,895 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,982 and $27,392 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for CIS” ranking looked at 20 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer information systems. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer information systems programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the computer information systems program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 20 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for CIS that were part of this year’s ranking, Colorado State University - Fort Collins landed the #1 spot on the list. Colorado State is located in Fort Collins, Colorado and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 188 ’s CIS degrees to qualified students.
