University of Maryland Global Campus tops the 2021 list of our schools in the United States that are best for non-traditional information science students. UMGC is a very large public school located in the suburb of Adelphi.

About 1.2% of UMGC students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. 47,272 students at UMGC are exclusively online. There are roughly 45,251 part time students in attendance at UMGC.

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. Located in the medium-sized city of Ann Arbor, U-M is a public college with a fairly large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, U-M has also earned the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for Information Science ranking.

The school has a low student loan default rate of 0.2%. Approximately 15,737 students take at least one class online at U-M. About 3,568 of the students at U-M are attending part time.
