It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for IS” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
Information Science is the 58th most popular major in the country with 18,325 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $59,394 and had an average of $28,852 in loans still to pay off.
Across Pennsylvania, there were 1,562 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,660 and $27,562 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Pennsylvania for IS” ranking, we looked at 7 colleges that offer a degree in information science. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information science programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s IS degrees to 200 students in 2020-2021.
Pitt not only placed well in this ranking. RMU is located in Moon Township, Pennsylvania and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 9 ’s IS degrees to qualified students.
