It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for IT” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 40,555 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across Colorado, there were 328 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,763 and $36,239 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for IT” ranking, we looked at 6 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information technology programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for IT

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for IT. UCCS is a fairly large school located in Colorado Springs, Colorado that handed out 22 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UCCS, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 12,380 students enrolled at UCCS, 11 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 8 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,808. During this same period, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

DU is located in Denver, Colorado and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 9 ’s IT degrees to qualified students.
DU also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, DU supports 13,856 students, and 571 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 373 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $12,359. To help with additional expenses, 155 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. DU offers credit for military training for eligible students.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.

Colorado Technical University - Colorado Springs is a private for-profit institution located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school has a large population, and it awarded 170 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

During this same period, 7 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
