In 2020-2021, 54,635 people earned their degree in English language and literature, making the major the 18th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, English language and literature graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,352 and had an average of $23,972 in loans still to pay off.

Across Minnesota, there were 1,078 English language and literature graduates with average earnings and debt of $29,135 and $24,992 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Minnesota for English Language & Literature” ranking looked at 16 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in English language and literature. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent English language and literature programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
