In 2020-2021, 33,333 people earned their degree in foreign languages and linguistics, making the major the 24th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, foreign languages and linguistics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,172 and had an average of $22,048 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 2,226 foreign languages and linguistics graduates with average earnings and debt of $29,319 and $23,422 respectively.
