In 2020-2021, 977,800 health professions students received their degree, making the major the 2nd most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,927 and had an average of $20,846 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 159,163 health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $47,728 and $21,920 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Health Professions” ranking looked at 297 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in health professions. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great health professions programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the health professions program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

University of Dayton came in at #25 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Health Professions ranking. This fairly large school is located in Dayton, Ohio, and it awarded 270 ’s health professions degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at UDayton, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 197 of the 11,650 students enrolled at UDayton were GI Bill® students, of which 142 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $15,930. During this same period, 40 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. UDayton does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
