University of Maryland Global Campus comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. UMGC is a very large public school located in the suburb of Adelphi. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, UMGC has also earned the #6 rank in our Best Colleges for History in Maryland ranking.
The student loan default rate at UMGC is lower than is typical, just 1.2% of students default in three years. 47,272 students at UMGC are exclusively online. About 45,251 of the students at UMGC are attending part time.

University of Maryland - College Park earned the #3 spot in our 2021 rankings. UMCP is a very large public school located in the large suburb of College Park. UMCP also took the #1 spot in our Best Colleges for History in Maryland rankings.
