You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend The University of Texas at Austin. It ranked #1 on our 2022 Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region list. Austin, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctorate’s law degrees to 326 students in 2019-2020.
UT Austin not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at The University of Texas at Austin are $22,886, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Houston. It ranked #2 on our 2022 Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region list. This large school is located in Houston, Texas, and it awarded 254 doctorate’s law degrees in 2019-2020.
UH also made our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #7. Average graduate tuition and fees at University of Houston are $18,689, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Out of the 11 schools in the Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, St. Mary’s University landed the #3 spot on the list. St. Mary’s University is located in San Antonio, Texas and, has a small student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 233 doctorate’s law degrees to qualified students.
St. Mary’s did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #6 on our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at St. Mary’s University are $19,320.

University of Oklahoma Norman Campus came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region ranking. University of Oklahoma Norman Campus is a large public school situated in Norman, Oklahoma. It awarded 150 doctorate’s law degrees in 2019-2020.
University of Oklahoma not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #9 on our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at University of Oklahoma are $23,236, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.

Texas Southern University did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region ranking, coming in at #8. Houston, Texas is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctorate’s law degrees to 210 students in 2019-2020.
TSU also took the #11 spot in our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at TSU are $13,221.
Arizona State University - Tempe ranked #9 on this year’s Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region list. Located in Tempe, Arizona, this large public school handed out 252 degrees to qualified doctorate’s law students in 2019-2020.
ASU - Tempe also took the #3 spot in our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Arizona State University - Tempe are $27,048.
University of Arizona landed the #10 spot on the 2022 Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region ranking. This large school is located in Tucson, Arizona, and it awarded 93 doctorate’s law degrees in 2019-2020.
University of Arizona also took the #8 spot in our “Best Law Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at University of Arizona are $33,399, but some majors have different tuition rates.
With a ranking of #11, Southern Methodist University did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Law Schools for a Doctorate in the Southwest Region list.
