At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 98 international agriculture graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent international agriculture programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Cornell also took the #1 spot in our “Best International Agriculture Bachelor’s Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $7,484 for bachelor’s degree international ag students whose families make $0-$30k per year to attend Cornell University.

The school has an impressive student loan default rate. It’s only 1.1%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%. The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 96%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. Since the school has a student-to-faculty ratio of 9 to 1, those pursuing a degree will have more opportunities to interact with their professors.

Iowa State University is a large school located in Ames, Iowa that handed out 52 bachelors’s international ag degrees in 2019-2020.

The school has an impressive student loan default rate. It’s only 3.3%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%. The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 89%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.

This large school is located in Davis, California, and it awarded 23 bachelors’s international ag degrees in 2019-2020.

#4 in overall quality

Out of the 5 schools in the Best Value International Ag Schools for a Bachelor’s For Those Making $0-$30k that were part of this year’s ranking, Dordt University landed the #5 spot on the list. Located in Sioux Center, Iowa, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 1 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s international ag students in 2019-2020.

Dordt also made our “Best International Agriculture Bachelor’s Degree Schools” list, coming in at #4. The estimated yearly cost for Dordt is $24,967 for bachelor’s degree international ag students whose families make $0-$30k.

The low student loan default rate of 1.8% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
