2022 Best Value Doctor’s Degree Colleges for Medicine in the Great Lakes Region

Medicine is the 54th most popular major in the country with 27,562 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, medicine graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $54,795 and had an average of $169,628 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 4,794 medicine graduates with average earnings and debt of $55,700 and $188,425 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 4,794 medicine graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,428 and $121,375 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Medicine Schools for a Doctorate in the Great Lakes Region” ranking, we looked at 20 colleges that offer a degree in medicine. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great medicine programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is a small private not-for-profit school situated in North Chicago, Illinois. It awarded 266 doctorate’s medicine degrees in 2019-2020.
