2022 Best Value Doctor’s Degree Colleges for Public Health in the Great Lakes Region (With Aid)

In 2019-2020, 38,020 people earned their degree in public health, making the major the 27th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, public health graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,740 and had an average of $35,895 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 4,716 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,391 and $36,986 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 107 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,428 and $121,375 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Public Health Schools for a Doctorate in the Great Lakes Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking, we looked at 11 colleges that offer a degree in public health. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great public health programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Located in Madison, Wisconsin, this large public school awarded 12 diplomas to qualified doctorate’s public health students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UW - Madison, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Public Health Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” ranking.
