Public Health is the 27th most popular major in the country with 38,020 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, public health graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,740 and had an average of $35,895 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 1,657 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,250 and $28,581 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 465 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,560 and $37,817 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Public Health Schools for a Master’s in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking analyzed 13 colleges that offered a degree in public health. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great public health programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Utah. U of U is a large school located in Salt Lake City, Utah that handed out 68 masters’s public health degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Brigham Young University - Provo. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value Public Health Schools for a Master’s in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Getting Aid. Brigham Young University - Provo is a private not-for-profit institution located in Provo, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 12 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
In addition to being on our rocky mountains region master’s degree public health students with aid list, BYU has also earned the #3 rank in our “Best Public Health Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking.
