Health Professions is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 2nd of all the majors we analyze. In 2019-2020, 934,088 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2017-2018, health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $44,506 and had an average of $32,284 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 113,185 health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,054 and $25,618 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 14,971 health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,078 and $37,227 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Health Professions Schools for a Master’s in the Southwest Region” ranking looked at 82 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in health professions. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality health professions programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
