In 2019-2020, 183,889 psychology students received their degree, making the major the 7th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,496 and had an average of $36,227 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 17,830 psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,818 and $32,034 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,446 psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,605 and $16,886 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Psychology Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region” ranking analyzed 13 colleges that offered a degree in psychology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent psychology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
