New York University tops the 2021 list of our schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that are best for non-traditional sociology students. Located in the city of New York, NYU is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, NYU has also earned the #3 rank in our Best Colleges for Sociology in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking.
About 0.8% of NYU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 21,614 students at NYU that take at least one class online. 8,829 students are part time.

Columbia University in the City of New York comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. Columbia is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of New York. Columbia did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our Best Colleges for Sociology in the Middle Atlantic Region list.

University at Albany landed the #4 spot in our 2021 best sociology schools for non-traditional students. Located in the city of Albany, UAlbany is a public college with a fairly large student population. UAlbany also made our Best Colleges for Sociology in the Middle Atlantic Region list, coming in at #9.
The student loan default rate at UAlbany is lower than is typical, just 1.6% of students default in three years. Approximately 5,351 students take at least one class online at UAlbany. There are roughly 3,115 part time students in attendance at UAlbany.
