2022 Best Value Associate Degree Colleges for Accounting

Our “Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
In 2019-2020, 75,655 accounting students received their degree, making the major the 7th most popular in the country.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 4,151 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 229 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in accounting. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent accounting programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the accounting program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 229 schools in the Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Madison Area Technical College landed the #1 spot on the list. This fairly large school is located in Madison, Wisconsin, and it awarded 54 associates’s accounting degrees in 2019-2020.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Inver Hills Community College. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate. Located in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, this small public school handed out 9 degrees to qualified associates’s accounting students in 2019-2020.
IHCC also took the #8 spot in our “Best Accounting Associate Degree Schools” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for IHCC is $11,486 for Associate Degree Accounting students.
Out of the 229 schools in the Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Anoka-Ramsey Community College landed the #3 spot on the list. Coon Rapids, Minnesota is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s accounting degrees to 21 students in 2019-2020.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Gateway Technical College. It ranked #4 on our 2022 Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate list. Normandale Community College came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate ranking. Normandale Community College is a medium-sized public school situated in Bloomington, Minnesota. It awarded 32 associates’s accounting degrees in 2019-2020.

Essex County College landed the #8 spot on the 2022 Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate ranking. Essex is a medium-sized public school situated in Newark, New Jersey. It awarded 40 associates’s accounting degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Essex, the school also landed the #4 spot in our “Best Accounting Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $11,443 for Associate Degree Accounting students per year to attend Essex.
Milwaukee Area Technical College did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate ranking, coming in at #9. MATC is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and, has a fairly large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 51 associates’s accounting degrees to qualified students.
