Information Science is the 56th most popular major in the country with 18,368 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $58,848 and had an average of $32,600 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 1,974 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $57,725 and $33,240 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 1,257 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,078 and $37,227 respectively.

This ranking identifies schools with high-quality information science programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
