Across the Great Lakes region, there were 718 heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration engineering technology/technician graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 90 heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration engineering technology/technician graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,508 and $17,812 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value HVAC Schools for an Associate in the Great Lakes Region” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration engineering technology/technician. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration engineering technology/technician programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Oakland Community College. It ranked #1 on our 2022 Best Value HVAC Schools for an Associate in the Great Lakes Region list. Oakland Community College is a fairly large public school situated in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. It awarded 12 associates’s HVAC degrees in 2019-2020.
Oakland Community College did well in our major quality rankings, too. Out of the 12 schools in the Best Value HVAC Schools for an Associate in the Great Lakes Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College landed the #2 spot on the list. Located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this fairly large public school awarded 8 degrees to qualified associates’s HVAC students in 2019-2020.
