In 2019-2020, 1,415 people earned their degree in Germanic languages, making the major the 216th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, Germanic languages graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $34,200 and had an average of $22,114 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 372 Germanic languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $30,300 and $21,302 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 303 Germanic languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,075 and $25,381 respectively.

This ranking identifies schools with high-quality Germanic languages programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
