Students have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Best Value German Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region” ranking is part of that endeavor.

In 2019-2020, 1,415 people earned their degree in Germanic languages, making the major the 216th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, Germanic languages graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $34,200 and had an average of $22,114 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 207 Germanic languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,800 and $20,750 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 173 Germanic languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value German Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region” ranking, we looked at 22 colleges that offer a degree in Germanic languages. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality Germanic languages programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the Germanic languages program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
