Mathematics is the 32nd most popular major in the country with 31,080 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $44,066 and had an average of $21,378 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 4,750 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,143 and $21,686 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,890 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.
