In 2019-2020, 39,860 people earned their degree in fine and studio arts, making the major the 29th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, fine and studio arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $23,847 and had an average of $28,316 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 2,272 fine and studio arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $24,439 and $27,292 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 332 fine and studio arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,606 and $42,101 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Fine Arts Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region” ranking looked at 21 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in fine and studio arts. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent fine and studio arts programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
