In 2019-2020, 27,047 people earned their degree in music, making the major the 40th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, music graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $25,639 and had an average of $28,653 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 4,874 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,145 and $31,557 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 248 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,944 and $116,843 respectively.
