2022 Best Value Doctor’s Degree Colleges for Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the 171st most popular major in the country with 3,585 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, biotechnology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $50,092 and had an average of $32,815 in loans still to pay off.
At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 15 biotechnology graduates with average earnings and debt of $72,680 and $116,043 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Biotech Schools for a Doctorate” ranking analyzed 6 colleges that offered a degree in biotechnology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent biotechnology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Iowa State University is a public institution located in Ames, Iowa. The school has a large population, and it awarded 1 doctorate’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Iowa State also made our “Best Biotechnology Doctor’s Degree Schools” list, coming in at #4. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Iowa State University are $25,948.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Alabama in Huntsville. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value Biotech Schools for a Doctorate. University of Alabama in Huntsville is a public institution located in Huntsville, Alabama. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 4 doctorate’s degrees in 2019-2020.

Clarkson University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Potsdam, New York. The school has a small population, and it awarded 1 doctorate’s degrees in 2019-2020.
