2022 Best Value Biotech Schools for a Master’s
When pursuing a degree in today’s world, students have many different options to choose from. College Factual has developed its “Best Value Biotech Schools for a Master’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
Biotechnology is the 171st most popular major in the country with 3,585 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, biotechnology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $50,092 and had an average of $32,815 in loans still to pay off.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 1,469 biotechnology graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Biotech Schools for a Master’s” ranking looked at 59 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in biotechnology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent biotechnology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Out of the 59 schools in the Best Value Biotech Schools for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Maryland Global Campus landed the #3 spot on the list. UMGC is a large public school situated in Adelphi, Maryland. It awarded 137 masters’s biotech degrees in 2019-2020.
