With 81,384 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, computer information systems is the 10th most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $51,664 and had an average of $26,071 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 9,007 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $54,380 and $26,115 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 5,985 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,075 and $25,381 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value CIS Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Great Lakes Region” ranking looked at 75 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer information systems. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer information systems programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
