2022 Best Value ASL Schools for an Associate in the Great Lakes Region

In 2019-2020, 2,737 people earned their degree in American Sign Language, making the major the 197th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, American Sign Language graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $30,270 and had an average of $21,733 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 455 American Sign Language graduates with average earnings and debt of $24,400 and $19,375 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 168 American Sign Language graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,508 and $17,812 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value ASL Schools for an Associate in the Great Lakes Region” ranking analyzed 4 colleges that offered a degree in American Sign Language. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great American Sign Language programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Lansing Community College is a public institution located in Lansing, Michigan. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 26 associates’s degrees in 2019-2020.

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is a medium-sized school located in Cincinnati, Ohio that handed out 10 associates’s ASL degrees in 2019-2020.
Cincinnati State also took the #2 spot in our “Best American Sign Language Associate Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” ranking. It costs about $5,469 for Great Lakes Region Associate Degree ASL students per year to attend Cincinnati State.

Belleville, Illinois is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s ASL degrees to 16 students in 2019-2020.
