It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. Our “Best Value ASL Schools” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.

American Sign Language is the 199th most popular major in the country with 2,724 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, American Sign Language graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,250 and had an average of $24,208 in loans still to pay off.

For this year’s “Best Value ASL Schools” ranking, we looked at 25 colleges that offer a degree in American Sign Language. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality American Sign Language programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the American Sign Language program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 25 schools in the Best Value ASL Schools that were part of this year’s ranking, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania landed the #3 spot on the list. Located in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, this medium-sized public school awarded 31 diplomas to qualified ’s ASL students in 2020-2021.
