With 313,362 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, nursing is the 3rd most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $67,065 and had an average of $26,282 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 74,467 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $64,095 and $26,787 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 32,953 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking looked at 262 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in nursing. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent nursing programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
