With 313,362 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, nursing is the 3rd most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $67,065 and had an average of $26,282 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Far Western US region, there were 26,079 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $81,777 and $28,103 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 12,488 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,083 and $22,209 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Far Western US Region” ranking looked at 84 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in nursing. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality nursing programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
