In 2019-2020, 19,436 people earned their degree in pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences, making the major the 52nd most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $103,354 and had an average of $116,700 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 4,924 pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $107,663 and $142,180 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,992 pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,978 and $116,300 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Pharmacy Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 35 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
