Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences is the 52nd most popular major in the country with 19,436 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $103,354 and had an average of $116,700 in loans still to pay off.

At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 15,089 pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $72,680 and $116,043 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Pharmacy Schools for a Doctorate” ranking, we looked at 131 colleges that offer a degree in pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

Out of the 131 schools in the Best Value Pharmacy Schools for a Doctorate that were part of this year’s ranking, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine landed the #1 spot on the list. Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is a private not-for-profit institution located in Erie, Pennsylvania. The school has a small population, and it awarded 273 doctorate’s degrees in 2019-2020.

This fairly large school is located in Fargo, North Dakota, and it awarded 89 doctorate’s pharmacy degrees in 2019-2020.
