Chemistry is the 44th most popular major in the country with 21,951 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, chemistry graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $38,704 and had an average of $22,279 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 15,411 chemistry graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.
