Physics is the 67th most popular major in the country with 14,123 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, physics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $42,475 and had an average of $22,421 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 2,515 physics graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,186 and $23,780 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 430 physics graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,887 and $46,998 respectively.
