In 2019-2020, 3,585 people earned their degree in biotechnology, making the major the 171st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, biotechnology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $50,092 and had an average of $32,815 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 358 biotechnology graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,600 and $32,103 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 106 biotechnology graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,041 and $24,492 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Biotech Schools for a Bachelor’s in the New England Region” ranking, we looked at 10 colleges that offer a degree in biotechnology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent biotechnology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

UNH Manchester is a small public school situated in Manchester, New Hampshire. It awarded 18 bachelors’s biotech degrees in 2019-2020.
