In 2019-2020, 55,749 people earned their degree in general business/commerce, making the major the 13th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, general business/commerce graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $40,821 and had an average of $25,596 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 7,697 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,813 and $20,495 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,701 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,605 and $16,886 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region For Those Making $30-$48k” ranking analyzed 40 colleges that offered a degree in general business/commerce. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general business/commerce programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the general business/commerce program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
