The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great journalism programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

American University came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Journalism Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Washington, District of Columbia is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s journalism degrees to 38 students in 2019-2020.

The American University also made our “Best Journalism Master’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region” list, coming in at #5. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at The American University are $35,524.

Syracuse, New York

Syracuse University ranked #8 on this year’s Best Value Journalism Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Syracuse, New York is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s journalism degrees to 55 students in 2019-2020.
