When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Best Value CIS Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.

In 2019-2020, 81,384 computer information systems students received their degree, making the major the 10th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $51,664 and had an average of $26,071 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 27,948 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,020 and $25,465 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 4,282 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value CIS Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 53 colleges that offered a degree in computer information systems. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer information systems programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the computer information systems program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
