In 2019-2020, 10,756 people earned their degree in computer programming, making the major the 121st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $45,886 and had an average of $26,222 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,897 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Programming Schools for a Bachelor’s For Those Making $30-$48k” ranking, we looked at 55 colleges that offer a degree in computer programming. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer programming programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
