2022 Best Value Doctor’s Degree Colleges for Information Science in the Southeast Region

Information Science is the 56th most popular major in the country with 18,368 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $58,848 and had an average of $32,600 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 2,291 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $55,840 and $42,406 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 39 information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,978 and $116,300 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information science programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, this large public school awarded 3 diplomas to qualified doctorate’s IS students in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Georgia Tech, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Information Science Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus are $31,334.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Nova Southeastern University. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value IS Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 22 degrees to qualified doctorate’s IS students in 2019-2020.
NUS Florida also took the #2 spot in our “Best Information Science Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Nova Southeastern University are $22,242.

The school came in at #2 for the Best Value IS Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a large public school situated in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It awarded 9 doctorate’s IS degrees in 2019-2020.
