In 2019-2020, 42,436 people earned their degree in teacher education subject specific, making the major the 23rd most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, teacher education subject specific graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $40,022 and had an average of $26,039 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 3,126 teacher education subject specific graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,666 and $24,335 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 1,665 teacher education subject specific graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,078 and $37,227 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great teacher education subject specific programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
