General Engineering is the 78th most popular major in the country with 11,925 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, general engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $66,152 and had an average of $20,077 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 1,775 general engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,200 and $19,581 respectively.

This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general engineering programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

The school came in at #3 for the Best Value Engineering Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Getting Aid. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this large public school handed out 43 diplomas to qualified ’s engineering students in 2019-2020.

University of Oklahoma Norman Campus did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Getting Aid ranking, coming in at #19. Norman, Oklahoma is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s engineering degrees to 7 students in 2019-2020.
University of Oklahoma also took the #17 spot in our “Best General Engineering Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for University of Oklahoma Norman Campus is $21,145 for Southwest Region Engineering students with aid.
